Privacy Policy
MindmapMD runs entirely on your machine. The extension never sends your Markdown anywhere — your files stay with you.
What the extension does
MindmapMD reads and writes .md files in your VS Code workspace. All editing happens on your machine. The extension does not upload, sync, or transmit your Markdown content, file paths, or any other user data to us or to any third party.
No analytics, no usage pings
MindmapMD contains no analytics, no usage pings, and no install tracking. The extension itself makes no network requests — there is no account, no sign-in, and nothing to opt into. You can verify this yourself by inspecting the extension's network activity at any time.
One clarification, for honesty: VS Code and the Visual Studio Marketplace handle installation, updates, and their own telemetry under Microsoft's policies. That activity belongs to the editor and the platform — not to MindmapMD — and you can review or disable VS Code's telemetry in its own settings.
Third parties
No data is collected, so no data is shared with third parties. The extension does not embed advertising, marketing, or analytics SDKs.
Future paid services
MindmapMD currently offers no paid services. If we introduce paid services in the future (e.g., a publish/share feature), they would be explicitly opt-in — you would choose whether to use them, and the fully-local behavior of the editor described here would not change. Such services would be governed by additional terms presented at subscription time, and their data flows would be documented separately before you opt in.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update this page and revise the "Last updated" date below. Any material change to how the extension handles your data will also be noted in the extension's release notes, so the change is visible where you install and update MindmapMD.
